 What does an appointment involve?

 Contact lens fitting consultation

We assess your suitability for contact lenses and make recommendations on appropriate lens types for you after considering factors such as lifestyle, prescription     and the shape of your eyes.

You will then be able to trial different contact lenses so that we can determine the best lenses for your eyes, and you can experience what it is like to wear contact   lenses.

 Aftercare examination

This involves examining your eyes to ensure that your contact lenses still fit well, the prescription is correct and that your eyes are not adversely affected by wearing   lenses.

We may recommend modifying your contact lens prescription, lens type or care solutions to ensure optimum ocular health.

Contact lens charges

All contact lens consultations and aftercare appointments are free of charge because the contact lens clinic is a teaching clinic, and therefore appointments tend to take a little longer than at a high street opticians.

The cost of your contact lenses varies depending on the type of lens deemed suitable for your eyes.

We also offer a specialist contact lens service to cater for those requiring complex lenses for conditions such as keratoconus, and the latest orthokeratology lenses, worn only at night so you can be lens-free during the day.

  • Daily disposable soft lenses
  • Monthly and two-weekly disposable soft lenses
  • Monthly disposable coloured lenses
  • Rigid gas permeable lenses

We also sell a range of contact lens solutions and dry eye treatments.
